Singing legend Etta James has been secretly battling Alzheimer’s Disease for more than a year, her son has revealed.

The 72-year-old R&B star was admitted to the Riverside Community Hospital in Southern California a week ago, with a suspected urinary tract infection.

At the time, Donto James revealed his mother had been treated earlier this year (10) for a dependency on painkillers and over-the-counter medication.

He now tells CNN the singer was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s over a year ago and has battled it in secret ever since.

Donto, who plays in his mother’s band, reveals the ailing At Last singer is suffering from speech difficulties, and has contracted the potentially-deadly MRSA virus since first undergoing treatment.

The worried musician says, “I am going to end up losing my mother if it keeps going on like this. There has to be another doctor out there who can tell me what is going on with my mother.”

But he remains confident she can bounce back: “I want my mother back onstage again.I know it can happen.”

Paying their respects to Jasmina Anema, hundreds of mourners gathered for her funeral on Sunday January 31.

Sadly, the 6-year-old girl who won singer Rihanna’s heart lost her battle to leukemia last Wednesday.

Jasmina’s strength is something Rihanna was taken aback by when paying her a surprise visit last year. Back in April of 2009, the singer popped into Jasmina’s room at NYU Medical Center—something that was a dream come true for the little girl, who reportedly lit up immediately upon seeing the star enter the room.

According to a hospital worker, “…when Rihanna walked into the room, there was no sign of (exhaustion) at all…Jasmina loves Rihanna. And Rihanna fell in love with Jasmina.”

Being honored overseas, Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor were made knights in the prestigious National Order of Arts and Letters at the Ministry of Culture in Paris, France on Monday February 1.

Feeling comfortable with their masculinity, the duo went so far as to give one another a big kiss on the lips at the day’s ceremony.

During the knighthood session, French Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand proudly declared, “I love you Jim Carrey! I love you Ewan McGregor!”

As for their trip to France, Jim and Ewan are busily promoting their upcoming gay romance, “I Love You Phillip Morris.”

Stepping out for celebratory reasons, Amy Winehouse was spotted arriving at the Shoreditch House in London on Monday night February 1.

Wearing a cleavage-baring ensemble, the “Rehab” singer looked to be ready to get the party started as she was attending her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield’s birthday bash.

The sighting comes just as Miss Winehouse is said to have confirmed ongoing speculation that she is, indeed, a bisexual.

She reportedly told friends: “So what? I like girls as well. I have had relationships with other women but that doesn’t mean I don’t still love Blake. There is something about being with a woman that is very satisfying. I don’t care what people think about me being bi – I do what feels good.”

Stepping out for a good cause, Eva Longoria was all smiles at the 2010 Godiva Valentine’s Day Sweepstakes event on Monday February 1.

Held at Godiva Boutique in Century City, the “Desperate Housewives” beauty was joined by Elton John’s partner David Furnish for the day’s press conference.

Explaining the details, a press release tells: “This Valentine’s Day, Godiva celebrates the joy of sharing love and giving back through a new partnership with the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF), an organization that has helped improve the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS all around the world. For the first time ever, Godiva’s annual Valentine’s Day Sweepstakes will offer its winner the chance to make a difference and contribute to EJAF’s efforts.”

Mel Gibson delivered President Obama with a back-handed compliment while promoting his latest flick, “Edge of Darkness,” this past weekend.

The actor-turned-director-turned-tabloid fodder has decided the commander in chief will not achieve change during his time in the White House.

The President “is a man with an impossible task on his hands,” Gibson told Pop Eater. “He got left a mess and I wish him all the best.”

The 53-year-old actor then added: “But I don’t think he’s going to fix it in five minutes and probably not in his entire tenure.”

Gibson has never shied away from sharing his opinions on political leaders. He once accused former President George W. Bush of “fear-mongering” during the Iraq War, and called former President Clinton a “low-level opportunist.”

At the MTV Video Music Awards last fall, Pink stuck a sparkly heart to her bosom and soared through the air like an acrobat as she busted out a rendition of “Sober.” At the Grammys on Sunday night (January 31), the pop star stayed closer to the ground — at least in the beginning — but delivered no less of a memorable performance.

Sauntering slowly onstage through a haze of electric-blue screens, Pink wore a silky white robe that covered her head to toe, save for a plunging neckline that revealed a lot of skin. Singing “Glitter in the Air” from her Funhouse album, she made her way down the stage stairs and into the aisle.

Once there, Pink dropped the robe to reveal a sort-of sheer bodysuit that was essentially just a series of white straps covering strategic areas while leaving almost nothing to the imagination. As she had at the VMAs, Pink brought her circus act to the Grammys. With dancers twisting above her, Pink climbed into a white sheet and was lifted into the air. High above the stage, she spun in circles and continued to sing.

As the song built up, water began to pour from above, soaking Pink as she kept twirling and held herself in place with nothing but a well-flexed leg. The song wrapped up with Pink spinning upside down and spraying water in all directions.

The audience at the Staples Center greeted her with a standing ovation. Pink then hustled offstage, perhaps to dry off. The singer still had a long night ahead of her. She’s still in consideration for one of her two Grammys nominations — Best Female Pop Vocal Performance — against Beyoncé and Katy Perry.

This is the most hilarious thing I’ve heard all day. And you know this is one big fat rumor that some freakoid made up. That rumor maker? Ian Halperin.

According to Ian Halperin, author of the recent bestseller Brangelina: The Untold Story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, he is claiming that Angelina might have cheated on gray-bearded Brad Pitt with singer Lady GaGa. Note that little key word in there though, dahlings. MIGHT.

Apparently, according to Halperin, Jolie and GaGa had a secret love fest that lasted all night. The Beverly

And dahlings, this wasn’t the first cheating rumor that has been circulating regarding Angelina Jolie. Earlier this week, In Touch Weekly magazine spoke to Anna Kowalski, a housekeeper who worked extensively with the family on their numerous visits to the Waldorf-Astoria in New York, who claimed Angelina had a series of steamy sex sessions with one of the dialect coaches she worked with on the set of her movie Salt.

The housekeeper shared what she saw after walking in on Jolie’s room. “The room was a disaster. There was water all over the bathroom and empty vodka bottles everywhere. Every towel had been used. And over five dozen cattleya orchids were scattered around the room, and there were the tops of the flowers in the tub, with candles. The bed was covered with black rubber sheets, and there were sex toys on it.”
